The 2011 Youth Chess Tournament for Peace is organized by the Canadian Centre for Ecumenism in collaboration with Chess’n Math and MonRoi at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, 1001 Place Jean Paul Riopelle.

At the 2nd Global Conference on World’s Religions After 9/11 His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, will be joined by Nobel Peace Laureate Shirin Ebadi, world-famous author Deepak Chopra, Professors Tariq Ramadan, Robert Thurman, Steven T. Katz, Gregory Baum and Swami Dayananda Saraswati who will speak on the theme “Peace Through Religion”.

“Having a heart, and a kind and warm disposition, is an enormous advantage. Not only does it bring us joy, but we can share this joy with others. Relations between individuals, nations, and continents deteriorate only from lack of goodwill and kindness, even though these qualities are so valuable and necessary for the quality of life in society. That is why it is worth trying to develop them.” His Holiness, the Dalai Lama

Message from the Convenor of the Congress Dr. Arvind Sharma, McGill University
