No Nakamura again?
Is he not invited or he just doesn’t want to play?
He didn’t qualify and his rating isn’t high enough either.
Why Nakamura was not invited? His rating is higher than some of the participants and everyone in the world knows that he is a very excellent blitz player.
Aronian is the best Blitz & Rapid player.
Very strong field, very attractive tournament to follow, but clearly Nakamura (best Blitz player), Radjabov, Shirov and Topalov are missing.
Yo Naka gave them the business on ICC they dont wanna see that thing he bring!! Hey Susan check out Fischer’s black opening on the Icc vs “the Russians”,1min chess. 1e4 c6 2 d4 f6 3 Nc3 Qa5 4 Nf3 Qh5 5 Be2 Kd8 6 0-0 Qe8!!! 0-1. haha, he sick!!
Good luck to Dominguez again for this edition!!!
How about Vishy?
Nakamura could have tried to qualify, and didn’t. Invited players are Russians plus defending champion Dominguez. Nakamura is a “very excellent blitz player” _on ICC_, less evidence is available concerning over-the-board games (maybe he doesn’t want to put his reputation at stake?).
Still, I wonder if this is an official FIDE event, or just a very strong tournament that calls itself world championship. Similarly, Mainz refers to its tournament as “Grenke Leasing Rapid World Championship”, but here at least Amber is an (even) stronger event.
