Susan,
I understand that you are selecting a representative from each state but states vary significantly in popularity of chess. Rating of top girls from some states can not even compare with girls from NY, NJ, etc. Have you considered selecting girls just by rating such as top 50 girls by USCF rating?
That is why we have the Susan Polgar National Open and World Open Championship for Girls.
This one is for one per state. The idea is to motivate the girls from each state to compete and stay with chess.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar

Are you sure this is this year’s list? Judging only from the Arizona representatives, you have last year’s names.
Amanda Mateer should be this year’s AZ Polgar rep with Jenelle Wallace being the alternate.
I’ll try to get our State affiliate to submit the official notification.

Susan,
Great job. This is CoachTaylor, Tampa Florida. Director of Florida
Chess Camp, where we have always had many girls attend(Eunice Rodriguez, Rita Michindani, Amanda Mateer, etc.). We are very proud of that fact. I would like to “Bump It Up” somemore by starting “Girls Only Chess – GOC” tournaments in Tampa, to start, and then go on to organize, as I organize the Florida State Championships in Miami, Female state events. I need your help, or a staff member to answer some questions for me on how you conduct the large tournaments for girls and some of the events held between rounds.
thx for all you do, CoachTaylor

Amanda Mateer is strong. Watch her progress.
Get a life, Amanda, and quit tooting your own horn!
will the names of qualifiers from the 1st Annual Susan Polgar championship be published here too ?
