Moro 2916! I wish he were the WC. A real entertainer.
As a Svidler fan, I felt very sad about Peter’s performance in Fuegen, but i believe it is a consequence of his engagement for Kramnik in Elista.
Moro’s performance might be one of the highest in chess history ever (was there at all a higher performance before?) and it could have been even higher, if there won’t have been that avoidable loss against Radjabov.
Most of all surprised me Shirov – i’m sure he recovered from his little crisis – Kramnik, watch out!
With Shirov and Morozevich playing like that, we’re in for some great chess.
As awesome as Moro’s performance was, Karpov had a 3000 Elo performance not so long ago in a tournament. Chessmetrics consider this the highest performance ever!
Don’t forget Ivanchuk. He scored 6/7. Is he better than Moro? I guess.
Nothing will top Fischer’s 20 game winning streak against world’s best GM’s! Nobody to this day has even come close to this kind of SuperMan result!
Fischer is past, buddy. We are talking about the future.
Fischer at his best would get his ass handed to him by todays players. With computers everything is progressing so much. Our understanding of the opening, the middlegame and the ending…
Today at least 20 players play objectively stronger chess than Fischer did at his best.
Fischer perhaps had talent and he didn’t have computers, but saying that he was better than todays top GMs is like saying Jesse Owens jumped longer than Carl Lewis!!
a) Ivantchuks tournament performance was 2864
b) according to chessmetrics Fischers best individual match / tournament performance was 2887
